the desire i first tried to hide

these sketches are the first watercolours/sketches i've done in way too long. so the first piece is basically very structured and defined in cut with super sharp edges. i love the idea of strong/jutting out shoulders. one thing i really love about this sketch is the HAIR. haha, i never do detail on hair, but i guess i was bored and so i added some color (i think red hair is so pretty) and added some volume and a little bit of frizz (that actually looks good). the 2nd piece is something i reall like to do, just a side profile with a black silhouette of the face and some watercolour for the hair. i actually made this photo into a blog award, which i will soon be distributing(!! yay !!) i added some cool fonts and curved the edges, so watch out, readers, i just may choose your lovely little blog :D
how do you think it came out? your thoughts please!

diggin dinnigan

(images from nymag.com)
collette dinnigan's spring 2010 RTW collection blew me away. the clean cut lines and flowing silhouettes are amazing and really beautiful. the first look is a chic little number, and while i HATE those connected dress things that LOOK like a shirt tucked into a skirt but is really a dress (confusing enough, really), i love the how the piece looks as a whole. i especially adore the second dress because it is the first one with color, after 20 or so looks of monotonous blacks and grays (which i still, LOVE SO MUCH). the green shade is just so gorgeous and even vivid though its' still toned down a little. the draping of the whole skirt of the dress is really great as well. the sheen in the material of the dress gives it a special look, as well as the detail on the straps. the third is very fine in the detail as well, the beading on the bodice of the dress contrasts well with the sheer skirt too! the last dress is very intricate and unique. the sheer top of the dress and the hint of black in the straps really pull the whole look together with the beaded bottom half of the dress. this collection is truly inspiring, something only done by the wonderful, and newly discovered by me, Collette Dinnigan.

sweetly technicolor dreams

Thank You Ava, @ style bird for this lovely award!
i really appreciate it :D <3
i pass this award onto:
my lame attempt at cool photography. actually, the whole story behind this was me playing with a scratched cd. i was bored on the bed while my sister was reading so i grabbed my camera and the blue-backed cd. then i just put the cd in different angles in front of the lense. i actually ended up getting these super cool pictures. i also used both sides of the cd. my favorites are probably the last and first ones. i even changed the color of the light bulbs! haha :D this was really fun. i've done something like this before but with cellophane. it's pretty cool. anything works, and it comes out well too!
+your thoughts please ;]

ice ice baby

damn. feel like i could rule the ice kingdom (some random world made up in my own crazy head) with these mcqueen spring '10 stunnas. they just look so slick and icy to me, like they were carved out of huge blocks of ice or just made of liquid mercury! i love the materials and innovative designs in his looks this for this season. the cool colors make me feel very.. wintery, even though he's already doin' his spring looks! haha. pale faces and white tights go very well with the icy shoes that mcqueen has ingeniously created. the second pair are so different and unexpected, they just don't look like shoes. the crystal beads on the first pair really make them stand out, they totally look like glass/ice shards. and the irregular silhouette we NEVER see is refreshing too. it contrasts nicely with the champagne-brown satin of the shoe. the next pair just looks SO BUBBLY! i love the silver sequin tights.. a little of sensory overload, but so sharp and clearly defined. they look like fish or scales to me. and the shoes are just wonderful, they look just like i blew a whole bunch of bubbles and they all stuck together in the shape of a mcqueen shoe! :D BUT, the first pair MUST be my ultimate favorite. this is what i mean by 'liquid mercury.' the beautifully metallic color of these shoes really make them stand out, as well as the wrought metal coils and twists on the whole shoe. it's almost snakelike, with the movement on the wrapping of the heel and the winding of the front sole. digging the clear straps as well, i'm guessing they're hard to keep on! wonder how many pounds those are :] anyways, these pieces were BREATHTAKING and astonishing to behold, definitely getting closer to hussein chalayan's aesthetic, but not quite. keep amazing me, mcqueen. xx

kookily kool karolyn

karolyn, 27, of paris, france has SKILL AT UNFATHOMABLE LENGTHS.
i cannot even comprehend the beauty in EVERY one of her pieces. each of them all exemplify a personally unique yet high fashion taste that is on-key. the first sketch, a mix of mcqueen summer '10 is breathtakingly flawless. the second picture is a model from dior, and looking at it, you can just see the classiness and ladylike aura oozing out of her. and SIRI TOLLEROD AND COCO ROCHA! when i saw these, my heart lept. they truly capture the brightness in the eyes and the whole look of each model, perfectly. the last picture, a look from stella mccartney summer '10, is flowing gracefully and the punch of color adds a light playfulness into it. i also love how she leaves the face and skin without color, it really adds her own aesthetic into her avant-garde work.
karolyn puts her heart and soul into all these drawings, so i suggest you take a look at her blog, do you like my tight sweater?she is DEFINITELY my favorite fashion illustrator. this girl is something you just CANNOT miss. please visit her blog, and maybe you will soon be devoted to reading and admiring all her beautiful work.

i wish i could save you

this is a portion of the dance costumes that i am creating for me and my friends' "heart dance." it has to be about a modern-day issue that can be also personal as well.. ours is about alchoholicism.
there are 3 people in the dance, and i'm wearing a white shirt because i'm trying to help her with her addiction, and she is wearing gray, because white and black (the color of the other girl's shirt) mix to become gray. our song is save you by kelly clarkson, and hopefully i can get a recording of it sometime for you all to see :] i really love it.
so this shirt symbolizes how torn up you become when you are an alchoholic, or have a severe addiction to something. on all the shirts, i tore up all the sleeves so that when we turn/leap, their is fringe in the air :D haha. but the gray shirt has additional "rips" on the bottom, symbolizing something more deep and cutting than what i am experiencing when i'm trying to help her. the black shirt is also cut up along the sleeves, but i may just cut some pieces/ slash up the front of her shirt. what do you think i should do?
also, i'm planning to cut off the sleeves of my white shirt and fringe the bottom when i'm done with this dance :]

zippity doo da

(images from google.com)
i'm in love with zippers, did i tell you that? my goodness, they are my life. i love them. did i mention that? haha i'm being annoying. but here.. are a couple of the greatest shoes i've ever seen in my freaking life. yeah. my entire freaking life. not like those target shoes with dora that i really wanted long ago. GOODNESS comes in zipped up packages. haha :D
so the first pair are a pair of christopher kane shoesies/booties, with zippers EVERYWHARE. i love them to death. i just need a pair of kick-ass heels that are hot as hell. but i don't, so i need to find some purchasable block suede heels. yeah. anyways. the black leather and cut of these beauties are just sooo durable and chic looking, you know?
these proenza schouler booties are also on my want list. District of Chic also has them.. so wonderfully cute. yeah. i love the stacked look of the heel, and of course, the zippers. and how your heel is exposed, and the cut of how it ends at the ankle. gee i want these.
opening ceremony is just great. just great. just great. just AMAZINGLY GREATTTTTTTTTT. the completely flowing and just block shape of this wedge is perfection. i also love the mahogany/dark red hue, truly beautiful and much more unique than plain black. it's like wearing a huge block.. with an extremely lovely zipper down the front!!!

i DESPISE generic trends... so what kind of styles do you look for in shoes?

the sculpture garden

(shoes from google images)
if picasso was a shoe designer what would he do? i think he'd be up against henry matisse. they both are very architectural (echh cubism) and very natural with organic shapes. look at these beauties and tell me who YOU see :D
MARNI MARNI MARNI: i die. these sculptured and sleek shoes are just so chic. i would buy these if they were under 250 (South Coast Plaza sale status!) love that store. they've got metal like antlers hanging from the ceiling that display bags and dresses, can you say LOVE? call it an investment because these will stay with you all your life. they will work with virtually anything by my standards.. wish list much!?
JIL SANDER JIL SANDER JIL SANDER: the sleek and streamline face of jil sander's shoes never cease to amaze me. i love how sharp the edges on all her shoes are, and how the elevation of the WHOLE shoe is just great. do you likkkkkeee? :]
AZZEDINE ALAIA AZZEDINE ALAIA AZZEDINE ALAIA: goodness. make me feel good. these are JUST the sculptural block suede heels i want. the hue is definitely gorgeous. i love the feel or these.. with the cutout in the wedge of this heel.. v. great for my style.
sorry about not blogging about my style.. outfits.. blah. because my baby siblings decided to open 2 boxes of cereal and spread them over every square foot of my woodfloor house (my mom's super sick can't take care of them) and they have a fond liking to water based things. so they go in the bathroom (NEEDS TO BE LOCKED) and pour water into their little fake cooking sets. and dump it elsewhere. like on my jeans. and on their wooden toys. see if i care when mold grows on it.
VENTED.
&&&
ummm.. birthday's comin up yo! so yeah :D can't wait.

by the way, much thanks to hayley harris at captivating rookie for doing this profile on me! feel so loved, love you hayley :D

kirkwood forest

did someone say nicholas kirkwood for rodarte?
GAH.
ummm yeah. so i saw these in harper's bazaar first.. and they be wonderful
so intellectually stimulating to look at his miniature sculptures. they are jut beautiful and super innovative. the laser cutout in the first one is so beautiful and meticulous. love the hue and the chic ness of it.
the second shoe is plain simple beauty. with a clean cut streamline look, it seriously is the ultimate shoe. (was he channeling louboutin with the red sole?)
the last shoe is so cool. very utilitarian chic.. and useful. lol looks like i could kill someone with these! :D the point cuts across super fine in these shoes. white masterpiece for sure. the mix of the soft white with the sharp metal heel is perfection.

you?

10.18.2009

this is ACTUALLY today's outfit! haha. yeah. so i wore a motorcycle jacket from H&M, a silk top from my mom, a black necklace from my aunt, gray bandage skirt from crush, and black opaque tights.
:D
i hate myself for having a crappy camera/crappy angles. but legit enough for you to see right!? :]

it was pretty comfy. but i'm still kind of a little sick. but gettin' better.

this was a cluster of flower lights that i was GONNA use but didn't. so i piled them and plugged it in, in the dark . pretty cool picture.. to me. lol

boom boom boom i want you in my room

i went to a park near my house today. and we rode minature trains (via the pleasure of my little brother johnny, who loves thomas the tank engine) and i took a nature picture, for once :D haha. anyways. that outfit isn't one i wore today, but it's friday's outfit. i wore my slouchy dance shirt, an oldnavy dress, givenchy tights, and my doctor bag! i think i went over this last post lol :] but yeah, comfortable. the pocketwatch looking thing was thrifted from salvation army because i was looking for jewelry pieces that i could disassemble and reassemble for me and my friend's fashion collection. i love doing accessories! (hint, embellished tights!) the sketch is one i recently did. I WILL take better pictures of them soon. but i'm getting more creative! i think.. haha. do you like them?

jailbird, i wanna be set free

this is my outfit, of the day, which i didn't wear today. sorry for being inconsistent on these things. it's the chiffon shirtdress from 2 posts ago! ahah, i'm uncreative. but the red wool pencil skirt is great, liz claiborne, but i have to alter the hem and make it age appropriately short. haha. i'm so retarded. the last picture is the profile pic for my facebook group! join it! and stupid blogger wont let me post a link. so just type in "fascination drop" on search. it's a great group (okay.. 22 people.. but they all love it genuinely so :D ) the picture is siri tollerod. she's great.
okay, so a break from fashion and here's my day. SMELLS LIKE TAR. the stupid construction workers behind my house are working on stuff that hasn't been touched in too long. and they're talking bout budweiser.
school: i just took a AP euro test that was 5 paragraph essay and 77 multiple choice questions A-E. yayyyy. failed that. ahha, and a spanish 2 test as well. hola, no me gusta espanol para nada. especially my class. but i did like TODAY'S outfit. ahah i wore a black slouch shirt over a black dress, my givenchy tights, my crossbody doctor bag that i love, and those cute patent black flats. i need to get those tickets to see the ballet Gisele. GAHHHH. i love/hate my life. i wish it would keep raining/be REAL fall weather. stupid cali. geezz. how about you beautifulz guyses?
quote of the day: "so what kind of bike do you ride, a fashion horse?"

chain of love

finally i have my stinking memory stick. this outfit was a random dress up (but probably something i'd wear)
i'm wearin a denim guess jacket from my childhood, a bandage skirt from a newport boutique called crush, a DIY chain necklace (i'll explain! first diy in a long time), and a quarter sleeve striped henley (my favorite shirt ever).

DIY: for the chains, i went to michael's and scourged my house for chains. then i just opened them up wih pliers and connected and draped them the way i wanted it. it's that simple! :D

hope you like the blurry pictures. haha, i'm getting a new camera, hopefully, soon.
