TSUMORI CHISATO SPRING 2009 RTW: leaves me speechless.
but, i have to give you my insight, so, here it goes!
this collection really caught my attention becuase of chisato's intense attention to detail. she is able to translate a single motif she created throughout a  44 piece collection.

(1,2) the wave pattern she used on her beautiful chiffon dress is visible with the ruch-ing of the hem! i love how she did this. i love the ruching on the skirt as well, very scrunchy but chic! such a delicate pieces.
(3,4) the flowing blouses paired with bright watercolour images/prints truly give these pieces a thumbs-up from me. i adore the colors she uses in this collection! the ruching on the bodice of the white blouse is impeccable, and they pair so well with the loosefitting pants
(5,6) again she uses the ruching on the skirt, it seriously reminds me of an opera curtain.. anyways, the differentiation in the color ranging from top to bottom is truly wonderful. the cascading ruffles of the long dress is beautiful as well, love the ongoing bird motifs.
(7,8) sailor-esque to the max! the ruffled blouse is beautiful from the collar to the sleeves. it look especially beautiful because of the sheer material. the stripes tie in the whole theme too :D love what chisato did with the bustier part of the dress, and look at those leggings! adore them, as you can see the ruching again. lovely.
(9,10) now when i came across these two while i watched the slideshow, i was blown away. the white against the black is something that you see so often, yet chisato makes it something entirely different. the white strips are a definite touch of chic on this structural dress. the silhouette is darling. this gorgeous peachy-keen/nude dress is really something i've been looking for. (i've been obsessed with nude dresses lately, especially in chiffon!!!) so this one really made me happy. there are so many different elements in this piece, yet they all kind of mix together to form this truly exquisite dress.
(11,12) i love the draping of the first dress, it's very slouchy, which i like a lot. i also like the little floral patches peeking out from the pockets, very cute touch. the sweater is beautiful as well, adds a touch of sheen to the look. chisato can seriously play with textures! this creamy orange dress' skirt is reallllyyyy beautiful. the detailing of the winding pieces that make the skirt are truly amazing. i also love the leaf-shaped detailing on the side of the blouse part.
(13,14) more texture texture texture please! the jacket seems to melt into the dress, and the whole effect is astounding. once again there is another cascading motif, as the leaf-shaped details seem to drift onto the folds of the beautifully draped skirt. look at the cropped jacket: it's the same material as the skirt from the picture on right above! give me a chiffon blouse that flows like that and i'll love you forever. the models seem to move so gracefully and angelically. the shade of this one is especially charming. i adore the different materials on the seemingly cake like dress. it's like layers and layers of beautiful fabriic: just what i like :D

hope you enjoyed!

FAREWELL MY BLACK FRIDAY

BLACKKKK FRIDAY.
IFFAY.
wasn't so great, but i did score some finds!

UO: Silence & Noise Black Blazer with Leather Shoulders = $10.00
I ADORE this blazer, but only wish it was full length. still, very cheap and very chic!
i love how they turned the plain black cropped blazer into something different by adding the three folds of leather on the shoulders. a very nice touch!

UO: Silence & Noise Silver Shift Shirt = $10.00,
i paired this with the blazer and the result was BEAUTEOUS, not beautiful, BEAUTEOUS.
the silver is something i do not own in my closet, and it brings a sheen and glistening to my usually drab closet. usually the only glistening i have is hardware (via zippers and brads on my motorcycle jackets and vests)
harmonizes well with the monochrome palette i have ! :D yay!

F21: 2 Finger Bird Ring
I'VE BEEEN LUUUUKING FOR UUUUU.
i LOVADORE this ring so much. it's super cute :]

F21: Ballerina Necklace
I've been into rather dainty and delicate looking jewelry rather than the praised "statement necklaces" plastered all over every magazine.
dancer pride!

floating, drifting

happy thanksgiving, readers!

it was family picture day today, and this was my outfit: navy button up dress from OLD NAVY, black tights from TARGET, new-FOUND ankle cowboy-ish boots from my GARAGE (great find! they kinda pinch my toes, but they're awesome :D), leather belt from DAD, and doctor sling bag from MOM.
this outfit is great because i love the different color mixings, yet they all fit together - the leather of the belt, lid of the bag, and shoes, as well as the black of the tights and the bag! yess. love this outfit :D

DRAWN BY ME FOR my floating balloon: Victoria Sherman is my style buddy! We go to school together and we're always seeing each other in the hallways. day to day conversation: "Your outfit is so cute !" haha, i love this girl. she's always getting the good stuff from her parents. i love her blog because of the little thing she does at the end of each of her posts, very insightful and interesting. check her out, it's a relatively new blog! :D

have a happy and safe thanksgiving, and watch out for BLACK FRIDAY SALES!

red lips, red veins

this post's title is a play on Regina Spektor's "Blue Lips." i love that song so much, and i also really like deep red lipstick. and many other red things. thing is, i think i'd get the weirdest stares if i wore lipstick outside of my house... or a dance performance. anyways, the lipstick i wore is estee lauder in 'black wine,' i truly adore this shade. not TOO red, but not anything else unwanted either.

>>> yesterday i wore a moto jacket and scarf [not pictured] from H&M, sweater tee from the hall closet, and my newly ripped DIY tights :D very comfy, and the night is still not cold enough that i would sacrifice all to wear denim/ thermals lol. such a simple outfit, but something that i really think looks very well put together. FOR A CRAZIER LOOK: add some combat/lace-up boots (gahh still looking for an affordable pair!), draw on cat-eyes, and slap a couple studded accessories and you're ready to go!

for the tights: all you need to do is grab a pair of sheer/semi sheer TIGHTS, NOT LEGGINGS. then take a pair of scissors or something stab-able and slit a hole wherever desired. to get gnarly ladders/rips, pull the area near the border of the hole you cut and keep on pulling until you want to stop. do this wherever you like on the surface of your tights. VOILA!
hope you enjoy the DIY :)

let them eat cake

100TH POST!
thus we will not discuss the normal things of fashion, outfits, and such.
rather, we shall talk of scrum-diddly-umptious FOOD

George Bernard Shaw

FANCIFUL DELIGHTS come in every package. mine come in bags from clothing stores and packages that say "oreos" on them.

sweet things i REALLY crave right now:
-peppermint oreos
-red velvet cupcake
-rainbow candy canes
-cookies and cream ice cream

OHHH THE WONDERS OF THE HOLIDAYS >>> food goes on forever and ever.

THANKSGIVING IS CREEPING EVER SO CLOSE.
i cannnot wait for black friday=SALES.

i have an unprecedented amount of giftcards that are itching to be used, thus i need to go shopping (it's a legit reason for me to go!) and i must go to COSTCO to get my camera, which will hopefully be on sale :D
oh the wonders of the holidays.
outfit: striped chiffon button up from MOM, blue pleated skirt from F21 and that's it. what an un-complex outfit. anyways, i realy love it, so comfortable yet chic.

the DIY i did was SUPER easy and super cute. i took an originally pink plastic bow hair clip from my childhood and cut off the plastic backing of it (the part that holds your hair up) and painted it black. then i got a ring back and hot glued/superglued it on. very easy and very fun!

drawn by me for style bird. : Ava never ceases to amaze me with her daringly stylish outfits and wonderfully creative DIYS. For her age, this girl has the best style around. Every element in her outfits is always meticulously perfect and on-key with each other. Her DIYS are the most stunning things alive. Taking shoes and re-making them, she is able to create a new thing of her own, different from everyone elses, yet inspired by a certain look. Last of all, she's an avid reader of my blog, and always leaves the loveliest comments that encourage me to keep on blogging!
*applause*
hope you like it style bird!

with your body and mind

(click for larger image)

this was today's outfit. (but i wore it with a sweater, from UO, because it was slightly chilly!) i had a chinese competition today.. but it was boring and alarmingly long: 2 hours! haha. anyways, i wore a cool material-ed muted blue tank top from my mother's friend, a fringe necklace from Polka Dot, shorts from F21, and tights from my mom. i love stealing stuff from the parents. i constantly do this (thus i will also do this for most of the time my mother is gone=CLOSET RAIDDD!! i can't wait lol) it's a very comfortable outfit... but i just need some other things to make it perfect. i would really adore it if i wore it with a black blazer, so looking for that necessity right now!

it's like forgetting the words to your favorite song

RAWWRRRR//MEOWW.
do you like animal prints? the only one i can work with is leopard, and this wonderful chiffon scarf is the only animal print i own in my closet! this is my mother's scarf, i love it so much. it's not really much of a scarf, since it's like.. handerkerchief material lol. but it's really great pairing up with different things because of the colors involved in leopard print--the different shades of brown and beige and even specks of black.
i wore this scarf with a black longsleeve dress from BANANA REPUBLIC, tights from TARGET, gray moto jacket from H&M, leather gold buckle belt from my MOM. such a comfy outfit! i just need leather boots to complete this look :D

i'm so happy that thanksgiving is coming around, because it means FALL, FOOD, AND FUN. the three F's i look forward to. i love the bitingly cold but wonderful weather( it means you can bundle up and layer! ), the good food around autumn (thanksgiving dinner and other crap! haha ), and the opportunities to hang out with your friends and talk without school getting in the way.

how is your fall going so far? what's your favorite animal print?

akris from above

AKRIS SPRING 2010 RTW was sleek. minimal. clean. yet chic. i use few words to describe it because that's just how the whole collection is. then comes the pops of color. these colors are vibrant and rich, contrasting with the monotone of the pieces before. they're all beautiful to me. here are a few of my favorites:

the muted and soft gray color scheme of this whole look is very comforting and relaxing. it's so chic with the folds and the right amount of skin exposure. this look could bore some, but not me.

the layering of this outfit is perfection. the different shades of gray really mix together to make this look work really well. gray cigarette jeans and the layering uptop pull the whole casual look together. the skinny belt is great as well (2 strapped thin belt's on my wishlist! :D)

the fluidity and flowing material of this piece is really stunning. the vivid red hue also contributes to this piece's wonderful-ness!

this piece is so FALL-y! the deep red, orange, and brown palette makes me think of fallen leaves in autumn. a very warm and cozy feeling

i love this dress a lot because i have one similar to it! obviously i don't work it like this chick does, but the color and draping of the dresses are very similar! mine is probably more green, but i really love kriemler's extensive use of sheer materials.

OH . probably my favorite of the whole collection. when i see this piece i feel like i'm swimming in a placid lake; the hues are so calm and peaceful, yet change and flow in different ways throughout the dress. amazing.

i'm sorry for making this post so long, but i really think i can get deep into my own explanation and review of my favorite pieces of shows. i hope you like this runway review! enjoy
