yes i know the tights and the pants are a bit discoloured./uneven. i feel like i should be scanning my sketches instead of taking pictures of them :P
the detail on the valentino dresses is too hard to copy!
sorry the paper is wrinkly... need to get some paper that i can actually watercolor on :]

i went to snow vallayy today and had much fun. it didn't snow directly on us (boo) but it was really fun.
today was the only day in my life when i felt like UGGS were completely necessary. i hope i never have that feeling again. haha.
anyways, the weather was a nice and chilly 38 degrees and we also went to lake arrowhead village.. it was fun :D
to sum it up
-1 hr 45 min drive thru riverside county
-winded up the mountain to an elevation of 6000 ft
-got creeped out by the scary tall mountains
-ate food while getting lost
-played with snow and went down a large snow slide for the whole time basically
-slipped and fell many times
-ate dinner
-and then my baby sister jacquelyn, 4 years old, drew me the cute picture ^ with the sun!
i love it :D she drew one on a napkin in the restaurant we ate at and i asked her to draw one for me on paper... it might be going in my DROPBOOK

flutterby, butterfly
oversized sweater: dad, acid wash jeans: $10 tjm, dolce vita wedges: $10, UO
(click for larger images)
so this is what i was experimenting with yesterday. i just threw on my favorite baggy and super comfortable sweater (found in my closet... i find the random-est but BEST things in my closet XD) and i paired with a pair of gray acid wash skinnies and the wedges. i like the jeans with the wedges, so maybe i'll wear them with a different top/jacket (i'm thinking moto jacket or vest!) very comfortable :D
the picture above is drawn by me for A BUTTERFLY BY DAY : this blog is unique because it is a mother and daughter run blog! i have never encountered anything like it, and i find it so nice that they have a great bond and share a passion for fashion! their photo shoots are always awesome, and they are both so beautiful! the clothing in the outfits are always so well put and styled together. thanks for your wonderful inspiration, valerie&camilla!

waves of nostalgia

wedges: $10, UO
close up detail wedge
sequin and chain shoulder tunic: $15, f21
closeup shoulder
GORGEOUS beige tulle and black lace bodice dress that i didn't buy: $26, f21
charles jourdan stitched white leather chain purse: vintage
back from my recent (okay.. like 2 hours ago! haha) shopping trip with my friend nicolette. it was amazing, though there were SO MANY people. forever 21: SWARMING, urban outfitters: SWARMING (surprisingly the checkout line went SUPER fast!) i'm so glad i found those ^ wonderful pieces, at great prices!
we approached f21 with wary eyes, expecting large crowds, which is what we got. so we probably stayed there for like ever, and found only a couple of things... but they were so great!
the twelve by twelve section had the wonderful sequin and chain shoulder tunic, which was at a pretty good price of $19. when i took out my wallet, i used the rest of my f21 giftcard, and so i got 5 dollars off- for a total of $15!! :D i'm so happy, i love it. it really stands out!
then we went to UO, also expecting people=which is what we got as well. all of the sale section was an extra 50% off! (which is why i HAD to go shopping today :D). i picked up a cool leather skirt that was $10, but i never tried it on. then i kind of snaked my way through the busy hipsters to the shoe section, where the wedges that i bought were sitting. FLASHBACK: black friday, 7:31 a.m. i saw the shoes, which were originally $88, on sale for 39.99, plus an extra 50% off sooo. like 20 dollas. i was contemplating whether or not to buy them, but i eventually didn't
AND I'M GLAD I DIDN'T! cuz i got them for $10 today!!! i was so surprised when i was at the register because when she rang it up, it came to only 10, and it was supposed to be 20!! :D
also saw a pair of super cute black studded pointy skimmers (almost bought them!) for 19.99 plus extra 50% off and ANOTHER extra 50% so like $5! (you see, i didn't know it was THAT big of an extra sale so i didn't buy them... 1 pair is enough.. but they were sooo great!)
the last two pictures=this dress took my breath away!
it looked like a million bucks: in other words, something from chanel, with the beige/nude and black theme! i found it in the twelve by twelve section at f21 (the best section there) and it immediately caught my eye. i tried it on and it was BEAUTIFUL ,,,, but i didn't feeling like dropping almost 30 for it. it really reminded me of the RODARTE FOR TARGET beige chiffon dress mixed with the black version.
bye bye beautiful *tear*
love the white bag^ ! i found it while look for my comfiest AA sweats (lost for two weeks.. but found now :D) in the garage. i love it so much!
hope you guys are having a wonderful winter break
SEEING SNOW ON TUESDAY! hopefully not just on the ground... but falling :]

THE GIVENCHY THAT STOLE CHRISTMAS
(images from STYLE.COM - finally, i can use it again!)

merry christmas lovelies!
i hope you had a great year, filled with happiness and blessings!
well this review will be short, because of the many things to do during the holiday season.
Riccardo Tisci captures my mind with the GIVENCHY SPRING 2010 collection.
short excerp from STYLE.COM : "What he sent out was a fusion of Arabic influences, goddesslike draping, and, according to the program notes, the results of his new research into sixties Roman couture. If that sounds like nonsense on paper, in fact almost every garment had an intensity of proportion and detail that looked incredible: the graphic jackets; tiny kilts; attenuated drop-crotch harem pants; cool, multilayered, modernized tutus; and draped, wrapped, and swathed tulle dresses."
this was so incredibly cohesive, yet each piece spoke a own language. the beginning pieces were all minimal and clean lines. the pieces were both masculine and feminine, with sharp edges and drapey silhouettes. then came the patterns, which all were eye-popping and in-your-face. they were so incredibly meticulous and intricate! after the rush of patterned models came the beautiful soft pieces. these were all gorgeous and soft looking pieces that wrapped the models up like delicate cocoons. the detail on several dresses on the shoulders really stood out. the ruffling and draping of ALL the pieces really wowed me.
truly a great collection.
merry christmas again readers!

HERE TO STAY IS THE NEW BIRD
merry christmas eve readers!
the only i've been doing for the past week of break is... reading huck finn...and going on the computer like 24/7!! but i really enjoy blogging and reading all your guys' wonderful comments. it's nice to know that people spend their time to read and give feedback even during the busy holidays! Thank you, all my followers :D
well this was yesterday's outfit: red and white striped shirtdress from my MOM, black leggings, doctor bag from my MOM, and my NEW DIY'S : JAZZ SHOES INTO OXFORDS . i'm so excited about these babies :]]]]
this is what i did: i took a pair of my old gold flats that were dying :'(bye) and i cut off the sole. then i meticulously hot glued it and molded it into the shape of the sole of the jazz shoe. i wore them like EVERYWHERE. they're so amazingly comfortable and the leather is super soft. thanks mom, for letting me do this haha! yet i still have to get a new pair of black or brown OR nude.. love that color...oxfords. sooo yeah.
gotta fly! my sister has to get ingredients @ the supermarket for a dinner project

merry eve of christmas eve!
i know it is MUCH too cold to be wearing this outfit outside, thus you can guess that it was dress-up time.
i'm wearing a floral SKIRT that i wore as a strapless dress from my MOM, white lace tights from my MOM, jazz shoes from my MOM, and belt from my MOM.
geez, i might as well live in her closet lol. she has the greatest things. even better: since she returned from taiwan, i've gotten some cute things that she left at her house in taiwan. blouses and dresses :D yay
the collage is part of my everyday/week challenge.
i make a page of inspiration in my sketchbook as often as i can, and hopefully by the time i'm done, there will be 140 pages of great pictures and personal thoughts.
this is the first page in my (OH BOY I NEED A NAME!!!!) book.
the theme is black and white with hints of metal and hardware.
pictures from: coach catalogue, harper's bazaar, riviera, and some japanese magazine.
+++i need names for this book, guys!
help me...!
