ok, so i guess it's not a hiatus.... just a break. i'm going to be on a 4 day church retreat and hopefully will be up and posting after that.
leopard print skirt: F21
sheer socks: ...
lace up boots: dolce vita for target
cross necklace: my piano teacher :)
this is, from the title, a completely unconventional holiday outfit. but of course since i received my boots in the mail yesterday (YES, i am fully aware that i am about half a year off of the combat boot trend, whatever), i wanted to create a look that wasn't so "christmas-y".
the sketches were done at my grandparents house during my last visit. i'm thinking of putting some of them into my portfolio... which ones ?
FIRST, there are three things to excuse.
1.) my horrendous posting during these last months. love you readers!
2.) my weird poses in the above pictures.... i was becoming un-accustomed to posing in front of a camera. ha.
3.) what looks like a food baby in that skirt (that's one of the downsides of bandage skirts -___-)
thank you ALL so much for being a part of the past year's blogging experience. it has given me true joy to make friends and acquaintances through this blog, as well as receiving some presents ;) everytime i am down i look back at this page and it inspires me to go on--as does looking at your guys' blogs too.
happy holidays to EVERYONE--fashion blogosphere or not! stay safe and warm during the winter :)
+++.... i need a camera so badly... !! what model should i get?! .... price LIMIT i would say is like $550
thanks and merry christmas/happy holidays again!!
mmmm these are just a few pieces that i've done in my altered book for a photography//visual imagery class. the first picture is three head illustrations that i just randomly sketched.... might be a future header (but... of course.. not as good Johanna's :D )
thank you all SO much for all the feedback in the previous post! <3
probably the most beautiful and well put together outfit i have EVER seen. the voluptuous silhouette of the zipper-edged dress with the oversized cardigan over it, and belted is so.... LUXURIOUS... with the addition of simple black peep toe lace ups and mile high legs... it's perfection.
i love the fur "dress" like thing with the elegant blouse underneath--my obsession with tie-neck blouses is ridiculous. great blue clutch (balenciaga?) too!
adore the hint of a leather edged skirt peeking out from under that wonderfully grandma-y sweater. the sleek black ankle boots go so well too. this outfit reminds me that i have to be on the look out for great sweaters that i can wear with pleated skirts underneath. (i just bought one that i'll post soon hopefully!)
love the peter pilotto dress with the burberry shearlings. that drapery is exquisite.
MMMMM i have a red skirt sooo similar to this, and i'd love to wear it.. except i don't have the legs to pull it off. it's amazing how models can wear long skirts and long coats over those long skirts and still look so chic.

i told you it was coming! you better have been prepared!
PLATFORM MARY JANES: Miu Miu, YSL, Marc by Marc Jacobs
great style... ever since the trend exploded since the F21 miu miu knockoffs, i've been wanting them. i saw them in the hollywood//sunset blvd store.. loved them.
WEDGES: Viktor & Rolf, Acne, Finsk
the architectural style of all these leave me awed... too bad the atacomas are sold out... i'm still in love with those shoes. i like the cutout heel in the finsks' too. and those V&R B.A.'s are insanity.
HEELED LACE UP BOOTS: Topshop, Nicholas Kirkwood for Erdem, Opening Ceremony
i like boots of all types-equestrian/riding, ankle, short, flat, tall.. etc. but these are my fave. the print on those kirkwood's are stellar.the platform of the topshop and the zipper is quite unique, and i LOVE that dark maroon hue on the OCs.
FLAT BOOTS: Alexander Wang, Zara, Sigerson Morrison
sometimes you need to avoid heels, but you don't have to sacrifice style for that! i love the nude color and all the leather flaps on the a wangs, i'd totally wear these all the time. and i've been looking for a pair of pointy, elastic ankle boots like the zara ones for forever! does anyone know where i can get a good pair for a reasonable price? love them.
PLATFORM ANKLE BOOTS: Whyred, Bottega Veneta, Alexander Wang
anything with a platform will immediately etch itself into my brain. the idea is comfortable and chic at the same time, i've been wanting the wang "constances/anabela" for a long long LOOONNNNG time. they're so beautiful. *sigh*
OXFORDS: Miu Miu, Stuart Weitzman, Yesstyle
these unconventional styles make my heart sing. i love the studding all over the 1st pair, and the cutouts and the color of the second pair. the leopard print in the last pair are pretty fierce too (that trend has also exploded this season, lol)
hope you enjoyed!
(BAGS NEXT!!!! :D )
ship print chiffon blouse: my mom
shorts: DIY random brand
hey readers! just thought i'd share this lovely blouse that i found in the closet... it's so printed almost to the point of pirate-tacky, but i thought that i'd balance the graphics with a simplistic lower half (denim cutoffs, black tights, wedges). it reminds me of the poem "o captain, my captain" that i had to recite in sophomore year lol.
+++this ring was made out a chunk of pyrite that i couldn't do anything with because it was so heavy. i just bought some finer jewelry wire yesterday so i wrapped it in place. if i sold these on the shop, do you think they would sell ? :)
thanks for reading!
... just received a package which i will disclose contents of next post, hopefully :)
stolen girlfriends club, miss sixty, T by alexander wang
absolutely in love with these styles... i've been wanting cable knit shorts for a while--too bad i can't crochet! lol. still in love with leather shorts too... i need a pair but most are too expensive online :(. the last pair are the ultimate comfort pair.. i'm thinking of channeling a wang spring 2010's sport look and getting a pair of sweatpants from the local t shirt factory and cutting them and cuffing them. they'll be my layback bottoms.
zucca, phillip lim, T by alexander wang
still in love with capes as well. i have one.. but the cut and the random buttons are kind of annoying. i want a woolly and warm one that can be versatile throughout fall and winter and early spring. i think the silhouette of the zucca one is amazing, the lining and quilting on the phillip lim is daring, and the leather pockets on the wang is so eccentric!
H&M, stella mccartney, derek lam
ever since i got my first pleated skirt at forever21, i've been in love. i like how they incorporate the luxe material of leather in the H&M pair (the more expensive pair is the rebecca minkoff one, i believe), love the nude-y tone of the stella's, and the mix of leather and pleated chiffon sides is ever so pleasing.
DIGITAL PRINT DRESSES:
peter pilotto, mary katrantzou, jean-pierre braganza, christopher kane.
peter pilotto, mary katrantzou, christopher kane... they've all delved really well into digital prints. mary katrantzou's debut collection was her infamous "perfume bottle dresses." i love the drapery of the pilotto, the print of the satin texture on mary's, the mirror image on the braganza, and you guys already know how the entire fashion world has exploded with infatuation over digital space prints.
shoe wishlist next (prepare yourselves, it'll be large. lol) because (OK YOU ALREADY KNOW-MYCAMERA.)
