Dries Van Noten, the man

via style.com

van Noten's 57 piece collection was undoubtedly lovely yet confusing. I found his aesthetic jumping around from theme to theme, but in the end, it all pulled together for me. The monotony of the first sets of looks soon shifted with the HOT neon pink in the interim, giving way to the cool tropical prints. And who could forget about those jackets! The texture, detail, embellishment--it made me rethink cropped jackets.
The all too lovely mish mash of graphic prints was especially appealing--I loved the landscapes a la a darker Fragonard as well as the intensified images of water and illuminated city skylines--which he brought to life with jewels/gems on his coats! Pulled together by crisp, sleek silhouettes, the whole collection managed to flow beautifully.

Yay Paris Fashion Week!
