I just got back from IYF World Camp, which was absolutely amazing in every way possible. Despite my hours of sleep for the past 5 days being approximately 20 hours TOTAL, I earned and learned many new things from the camp. I was challenged to exert myself and to discipline myself.
World Camps are held all around the world and I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend that my readers attend, since they are accessible and were in 30 countries just this year.
The Getty Museum was amazing (as amazing as the last 3 times I went), but this time my eyes were really opened to the pieces in their collection.
I can't post all the pictures I took of the paintings, but I'll drop some names of my favorites: Van Gogh, Monet, Renoir, John Singer Sargent, Tissot, Degas, and others. The decorative arts exhibits with French furniture was amazing, and so was their silverware and porcelainware collection.
The next museum I'm going to is LACMA, so I will be posting about that as well.
PS--how cool is this necklace?! It reminds me of Tom Binns SO MUCH.
PPS--can you tell that my pictures are WAY better? I finally got a camera!
sooooo i'm basically in love with this skirt/top interchangeable piece! the dark version of the primary color trio in stripes on the fabric makes the piece IMPECCABLE! my first thoughts upon seeing the skirt was: I can mix and match prints with this thing! &&& like i said, these sunnies are literally GLUED to my face. i can't seem to take them off, check out the resthere!
the color scheme and stripes kind of remind me of Proenza Schouler resort 12
ANYONE?! or is it just me.....
anywho, i haven't worn this outfit yet, i was just too excited about the skirt to not post about it.
summer's coming to sad end, but i've still many many MANY things to do.
including my website, which (okay this must be drilled into your heads by now) will be launched SUPER SOON! the lookbook shoot for it is this weekend, and afterwards i'm sure i will be spending quite some hours getting the shop and the website finished.
If you haven't seen this on the news/online on yahoo or anything--there's a severe famine going on in war torn East Africa right now. It's sad to think that as desolate and deprived of basic necessities they are that their meager food supply is lowering EVEN MORE.
I was doing something on my paypal account and Paypal's homepage had a banner for East African donations.
You can also donate through various other sources like Red Cross UK and World Vision (where your donation will multiply TIMES 5!)
please consider donating financially to aid the suffering country!
Ah, so I am also in complete love with this BLAZER! I was crawlin through my mom's closet again and found this and 4 other treasures, including the crochet top in the post below. What a piece! I like the super mint pastel color of the blazer, despite it being hard to pair with other items in my wardrobe.
These were taken in front of my church, where we will be hosting a 1 week Vacation Bible School, themed "Pandamania" As always, I will be leading crafts and teaching kids of all ages.
Anywho, thanks for reading/keeping up.
I have lots of other things to do this summer--like a portfolio/get accounts on colleges/SAT/ blah blah blahhhhh.
I was ecstatic when these I received these shades, they are definitely my NEW FAVE and ULTIMATE must have accessory for the summer! The shape is so elegant and reminiscent of a vintage frame! The lovely Amy (CEO) even wrote me a personal note, so lovely! (PS- yes, I would LOVE to meet you in person too!) Can't wait for the other pair that she graciously sent me :)
Also, this top is absolutely AMAZING. I found it in my mom's closet (naturally) and I immediately fell in love. Paired with rusty suede shorts and the natural tortoiseshell glasses, the outfit has maximum summer boho impact!
I went shopping @ F21 as well, and there I ran into the beautiful Laura Diaz of Always In Style! She's a SUPERB visual merchandiser at the F21 location at South Coast Plaza, so if you ever get a chance to visit, check her LOVELY work on the mannequins ;D. mmm... I also went to the antimall/The Lab and visited Glossy, where the ladies were so kind and complimented my shorts and outfit (GAH, i love them equally).
the past few days have been so nice, despite my SAT studying >:(
anywho, I plan on launching my feathered jewelry website soon! so keep your eyes open!
