Paris Fashion Week | Part II

CHANEL
Karl Lagerfeld's age doesn't seem to affect his vast talent for putting on memorable shows (and cool clothes). The pointy stalagmites on the floor of the Grand Palais were a preview of what was to come-- darkly glamorous fall wear highlighted by crystalline details in the shoes, clutches, and jewelry. I loved how the crisp lines and voluptuous silhouettes were accented by heavy texture and the raw crystals in the necklaces and cuffs.

CELINE
Everyone's expectations for Celine always prove right, because the collections are straightforward evocations of Phoebe Philo's pure, unadulterated aesthetic. We got a different sense of Celine this season, with the creased trousers and boxy silhouettes intermixed with a multiplicity of color palette transitions. Philo makes me want to wear my bulky coats all day; plus, who wouldn't want those gorgeous golden wedges?!

CHALAYAN
My first thoughts on Hussein Chalayan's collection were: "This is so different from what he usually does!" "Is that neoprene?" "SILVERRRRRR"
From the first few looks, I got a feeling of scuba/aquatic gear, and as the collection progressed, I found myself thinking more of a squashed geodesic dome on a dress (which is, interestingly enough, a good thing). The beautiful contrast of brights (+ that MINT! exquisite) and muted tones, injected with a splash of silver, totally won me over.

CHLOE
The first coat at Chloe immediately won me over. I especially love how the almost masculine volume of it is toned down by its lovely blush hue. I wasn't particularly fond of the cinched waist and hem skirts, but everything else was spectacular, including the mini sling pochette!

Hope you enjoyed this mini-review, come back tomorrow for another post!
