You can't not love the classic leather dress, done in short sleeves, a crew neck, and an a-line cut. I actually tried this dress on Topshop and it was pretty cool but a little too pricey for my liking. I always find black to be best paired with silver so I chose some amazing silver and turquoise jewelry from 2Bandits and added some monochromatic accessories. I think this look is great for a day hanging with friends or going to fashion events.

Loose and airy dresses are the perfect pieces for summer attire, especially in the humid air of NYC (I especially love the draping of this one). The simple aesthetic of the dress allows room for creative accessorizing, which I did with a cool conceptual necklace by MMM and some thin rings on the hands. Add a roomy leather tote and comfortable wedge boots and you've got an "Errand-running" look.

There are too many boring black evening/special occasion dresses to filter through sometimes when one is searching for the ideal frock or gown. This gorgeous Christopher Kane dress right off the FW13 runway is simple but eyecatching with unconventional cutout details and a sleek silhouette. I would add some dainty bordeaux heels in suede as a nice color contrast to the stark black.  I've also been into marbling and marble textures lately, so this gorgeous clutch by Stella McCartney and the sodalite cuff add some chic graphic impact to an otherwise solid colored look. Now grab (or buy) your black dress and go out!

Though it is a piece that I have yet to own, denim dresses are appealing because they can be lightweight, comfortable and airy, and come in as many washes are your pairs of jeans.  Above are what I would probably pair the short sleeve, long sleeve, and sleeveless dresses with--from the most love worthy boots by Tibi and Modern Vice to cool clutches and minimalistic hardware. LOVE LIST | Weather Induced Window Shopping

With Hurricane Sandy on the move, I have been cooped up in my dorm for the last 48 hours. Part of me is thinking "this won't be as bad as everyone says it'll be," while the other part of me has prepared a "go-bag" just in case (don't laugh). I honestly don't know what to expect, because the weather has literally looked the same since yesterday--bleak, gray skies, intermittent rain, and wind.
