Yes, the weather has finally cooled a bit so that i can wear a long sleeved blouse. BUT ON SATURDAY--WHAT THE HECK--it was hailing, serious hail, like chunks the size of quarters. I don't understand California weather and I don't think I ever will! 
With weather cleared, I'm happy to also be able to sport my new shorts! These were originally the UGLIEST capri flared pants (I'm sorry, I should have taken 'before' pictures!) that I hemmed into cute little hot pants/shorts.I loved the enlarged floral print, so I knew that I couldn't just throw them away.Can't wait for more sewing projects in the future!
meanwhile, I'm taking my Style Notes on NYFW in a frenzy--there's like 15 shows a day showing up!Crazy!

hey readers! just thought i'd share this lovely blouse that i found in the closet... it's so printed almost to the point of pirate-tacky, but i thought that i'd balance the graphics with a simplistic lower half (denim cutoffs, black tights, wedges). it reminds me of the poem "o captain, my captain" that i had to recite in sophomore year lol.

+++this ring was made out a chunk of pyrite that i couldn't do anything with because it was so heavy. i just bought some finer jewelry wire yesterday so i wrapped it in place. if i sold these on the shop, do you think they would sell ? :)

so BREAST CANCER, including ALL cancers, is a subtopic of this post. 

i recently attended a breast cancer awareness conventionesque thing, and i picked up so much knowledge that it really impacted me to spread this information. 

FACTS: 

-1 in 8 women will get breast cancer in america. 

-somewhere in the world, a woman dies from breast cancer EVERY 68 SECONDS.

-another woman is diagnosed EVERY 3 MINUTES.

HAVE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT BREAST HEALTH!

-if you are a woman  20 years or older, make sure that you have a clinical exam at least every 3 years.

-if you are 40 or older, have clinical exams and mammograms EVERY YEAR.

- know what is normal for yourself and KNOW YOUR RISK! 

risks of getting breast cancer are being a woman and getting older. (though there have been male cases of breast cancer!)

- know your family's health history

-maintain a healthy lifestyle! 

- early detection SAVES LIVES.

yes.. finally i have pursued my idea of studding a simple sweatshirt (makes perfect for casual outerwear!) i think it's alexander wang spring RTW 09-y. i love it... so comfy! it's completely dressed down but has some refinery with the metal cone studs :) super easy and chic DIY!

ahhh school is starting soon.. i'm not stoked whatsoever---i even have to go to gov't class BEFORE school starts. ooh the joys of junior year. it's going to be hard balancing between school work, THIS BLOG(!), piano classes, dance classes, teaching pre-k kids every 2 fridays, and watching younger siblings at home. great.

Crystal Light

super short and quick pre-post (i'm planning to do an outfit tomorrow :D)

i completely cleaned up my shelf today, and i must say i'm pretty proud. i organized and threw away many things... put lots of necklaces in my sister's dress up box.. and dusted. i love my jewelry/accessories shelf! because i usually let my clothing do the work, i rarely wear jewelry. HOWEVER, i own a lot of jewelry (kind of paradoxical you might say) so i decided to make it at least look presentable for the sake of my eyes.

after i finished cleaning up, i played around with some silver wires and crystals that i had leftover.
i came up with the idea above, and have decided to replace that necklace with the one in my giveaway.
same crystal, different look--i believe the wire coils give it a more refined and finished look.

i just took these pictures like an hour ago.

sooo for my friend nathalie's schweet schixteen we went to the Huntington Beach Street Faire and i got this amazing asymmetrical one-sleeved dress. it has a zipper going along the sleeve. it's awesome.

and forgive me of wearing these shoes OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER again. they're just too amazing.

very comfortable outfit.. even though the weather's getting hotter..
