Taupe It Off

Taupe dress (worn backwards, again! haha): Target, $3.00!!
Leather Belt: dad
Mini Doctor Bag: mom
Buckle sandals: UO

ahh thank God the weather is calming down. it was about 108 on monday, but it's gone down to a cooling but humid 80-90ish for the past few days. anyways.... yesterday night it rained for like 2 minutes. i looked on my balcony and was UTTERLY CONFUSED as to why there were big fat raindrops on my deck... bipolar socal weather! typical!

well as you can see from this post and the last.. i've been very into browns and neutrals lately.... maybe it's the fall weather that's still got a tinge of summer in it (bleh). i love this dress because it was an absolutely deal. I cinched it with a belt because it was originally knee length (which does NOT work on me) and wore it backwards (i love the high neck again!) because the front was a deep vee... well the "back" looks cool now!

and also: MUCH thanks for Johanna Nyberg for the absolutely BEAUTIFUL and spectacular header ! :)

+++THE HOUSE OF HARLOW 1960 RING GIVEAWAY IS STILL OPEN TO US AND CANADA READERS! (top right of page)

Foliage

Brown blouse (worn backwards): from my friend kirtland
Brown high waisted pleated shorts: cut from vintage/found trousers
Leather belt: dad
Buckle shoes: UO
Leather and Suede case: ?

i was bored after my homework, so i decided to do a little dress up. even though it was 6:00 p.m. and about 96 EFFIN DEGREES. why is it so hot?!

anyways, the shirt is interesting because it is supposed to be worn with the pleating in the front and the buttons in the back, but when i wore it this way, i saw that the midsection created a triangular shape. so i decided to experiment with the "cutout" trend but interpret it in a more classy and sophisticated way without looking like "look at my stomach/i wear crop tops to school."<<

SOO000O0O0O0 just wanted to thank everyone of my readers, for keeping up all the time! it makes me so happy and it puts a large smile on my face everytime i see these wonderful and sweet comments :)

after a 4 hour SAT/ACT, it was natural that my friend nicolette and I would want to treat ourselves--to Sprinkles cupcakes!
a collage i made for my high school small group girl's room! :)

Dog days are over

Camel Double Breasted Blazer: DKNY, my mom's
Oatmeal Draped and Hooded: random
Highwaisted denim cutoffs: asian branded sweater:
Cross buckle heels: UO

very very comfortable outfit... i love everything with the neutral tones. i used shades of brown, nude, camel, etc.. and put it all together--small accents of blue denim and black finished the look.

SORRY for such a long break from outfit posts! i've been pretty busy and tired lately.. so yeah.
hope you like this outfit :)

but before i end this post, i'd just like to share 2 things
MY ARMOR RING!!!! i got it on ebay and i'm SO IN LOVE WITH IT. it moves with my finger and i can even type and write with it (as you can see, my chinese homework in the background..lol)

FINALLY, here come ss11 reviews! haha!

so i haven't been very up to date on the recent collections due to schoolwork. but one of the reasons i avoided style.com (not likely of me!) was because i was sorely disappointed in what was already up.
but i checked again today, and i'm SO ECSTATIC.
these may be old (they're new to me, okay!?) and you may have already seen these yourself on style.com or other blogs.
but i'm just going to put some favorites up:
\
Jeremy Laing
simple, just simple. there is only one word for it.
i loved the block colors and the drapery and just EVERYTHING.

Chris Benz
very hip and chic clothing from this collection, everything was different but each had a voice of its own

Halston
i don't know how to describe halston's aesthetic.. you can tell that a look is Halston just by looking at it.. fall 2009(i think?) was similar..yet so different.
i just love halston.

Hervé Léger by Max Azria

beautiful silhouettes here! i love the structured dresses, the color theme, and the cutouts

House of Holland
very whimsical and fun collection, pom poms and fringe were everywhere!

Marchesa
yes, i needed four pictures as opposed to two. georgina chapman is A TRULY GIFTED designer. everything in this collection WOWED me. the swathing of the fabric, how it settles on the human figure, the silhouettes, the details-EVERYTHING.

Rad Hourani
this defined minimalism! i love how he described as a "unisex" collection because indeed it was.
great textures and black and white (my favorite) in these pieces.

Theysken's Theory
epitome of comfort and style. everything looked so casual, but so effortlessly chic. oliver theyskens never disappoints.

sorry for such a long boring post and jacked alignment.. i don't know what's wrong with my images

models are just a different breed, you know?

!!!PREVIEW!!! for my self done photoshoot involving an AWESOME THING that i made. as you can see there is a mirror covering most of what i made--because i will not tell you what it is! ha! (i am saving it for a later post). my original plan was to do a shoot once i got a nice DSLR so i could get all techy and stuff. BUT, i was too eager to take pictures... so i did.
my newly organized mag shelf.
