(capsule) Weekend | part I

The AW13 Capsule show this past weekend marked my first tradeshow ever! If you've heard of WWD Magic, it's essentially the same thing. Hundreds of amazing vendors, designers, and showrooms of all sorts congregated at Pier 36 and Center 548 among other locations. I discovered a bunch of new designers that I will be keeping tabs on; it was great interacting with the different representatives they had at each "booth." Below are my some shots from my first day (I'll be posting the second half soon!)

Antipodium is one of my favorite Australian labels--I find Australian boutique brands to have phenomenal tailoring and construction. I loved how the simple silhouettes were given a kitschy twist with that amazing print, vibrant colors, and cool textures.

Digital prints are everywhere, but this blouse caught my attention because of its nature print (which resembles the nature reserve across from my house in California). Also, I could not stop staring at these paperbag-waist leather trousers.

I had the pleasure of meeting Samantha at her FW13 preview, and she is one of the most down-to-earth designers I've ever met! It is honestly so amazing to meet the face behind the label.
Remember her spectacular line with Urban Outfitters (I literally wanted everything)? Well, her fw13 collection is nothing short of incredible. The first image you see is a twisted waist cutout detailing on a maxi dress.  I also love the paint/ink blot print on the blouses.

I was immediately attracted to this collection as soon as I saw those rough edged panel cuffs. There was a sense of rawness in the pieces yet they were still elegant and polished. I die for that two-finger ring and all the delicate little accents (those tiny spikes!) throughout the collection.
See more of my coverage tomorrow!
