Focus on the Details

ASOS shirt / ZARA skirt / MARYLAI New York satchel
I must first say sorry for the lack of outfit posts in the last few weeks. I've been so preoccupied with resort and menswear that I didn't make time for personal style posts.
Since it is summer, I will try venturing around to get some good outfit pictures in the future (fingers crossed).
Anyways, this post is dedicated to my amazing new satchel designed by the ultra talented NYC handbag designer Mary Lai, whom I met through Fashion PR Con. I was given the chance to style her most recent lookbook (on the home page of the site!) and it was such a fun experience to work with her, the team, and her amazing creations.
My search for the perfect relaxed black satchel finally ended thanks to the Marlow satchel. With 4 compartments/pockets, a roomy suede lined interior, amazing gold hardware (love the braided leather zipper detailing!), and the most buttery leather, it was love at first sight.
You will definitely be seeing more of this bag in future posts, more pictures soon!
Thank you so much Mary for my bag!

What I'm Wearing | Overalls

TOPSHOP overalls, ASOS blouse, H&M boots, MAYBELLINE "Fuschia Flash"

Just a quick outfit post before I head off to class!
I purchased the T blouse a few months ago but never got around to blogging it. Nevertheless, it's one of my favorite piece in my closet. It's also one of the most colorful garments in my wardrobe (haha).
I let the patterns and hues speak for themselves and paired it with these rad velvet Topshop overalls and plain ankle boots!

What I'm Wearing | At the National Mall

VINTAGE jacket, ASOS dress, blouse thanks to POP BASIC, JOE FRESH ankle boots, GLINT&GLEAM bag thanks to SHOPLATELY
I only stayed in DC for a total of 2 full days, so here is the second outfit I wore! (Can you see the Washington Monument behind me?)

I love this dropwaist tank dress from ASOS because it's such a versatile layering piece; I scored it for $13 last summer and have been wearing it ever since. The best thing about a sleeveless dress is that you can put whatever you'd like underneath! I opted for this simple but versatile polka dotted collared button up from Pop Basic.
The amazing wool paneled jacket was thrifted back home in California for ONE DOLLAR. That's right, $1.00. It's definitely the best buy in my entire closet!

What I'm Wearing | Wine + Stripes

H&M cat ear hat | H&M men's varsity jacket | mom's striped blouse | MAXMARA skirt | ASOS boots | sunglasses thanks to VAGABOND YOUTH

I wore this a couple of days ago, but unfortunately never got around to blogging it, so here it is!

Since the oxblood/wine color is very "trendy" ATM, I didn't want to invest too much on pieces that would perhaps become obsolete and "done" in due time.
My suggestions? Invest in some accent pieces (i.e. accessories, makeup such as nail polish or lipstick) that can still serve as versatile and wearable even after the trend falls away.

Me by Sharon Gong

Too long drawn out, this post...

A couple of weeks ago, I had lunch with Sharon Gong, one of the most amazing people I've met since I've been here.
An ultra-cool, multi-talented artist who works in both photograph and traditional mediums, Sharon
works like a boss behind the lens and on paper/canvas.

Here are some shots that she took of me following our excursion and meet up with the equally as talented photog and model Kelsea Kosko.

If you remember my involvement with Atomica, Kelsea founded it, and Sharon (remember the amazing spread with the Suarez sisters?) and I both contributed.
It's been such a pleasure to be able to meet all these beautiful minds here in New York.
