31 days have come and gone!

Today is the last day of my 31 day blogging challenge (which has indeed been a challenge). If you'd like to browse through the March archives, click here.

I blogged about everything from personal outfits to runway reviews to editorial inspiration, and I hope that you guys were all inspired by my posts!
School did indeed conflict with things, and having heard back from the colleges I applied to was emotionally draining too. Once I commit (I'm most likely going to FIT), I'll be sure to write about it!

P.S. I think you are getting closer to a giveaway... I can sense it in the air... *hint*

THANK YOU ALL for visiting, reading, commenting, browsing, or whatever it is you do on this site. It is much appreciated and I'm happy to know that other people appreciate my work and attention to this venture of mine! :) Nonetheless, this constant posting has rubbed off on me, and although I may not post everyday in the future, I'll definitely try to document more things (as I will soon order a new lens to replace my old, broken one)!

PFW12 | Valentino

 images via elle

Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli; the names to remember.
Every season, Valentino has consistently presented demure dresses of the lacy and floral nature, while also filling in the fashion niche of leatherware. The duo's impeccable execution of fine details in the lace and embroidery is extremely admirable. And of course, what is Valentino without its signature red? The feminine yet matronly silhouettes of the red pieces were striking despite their simplicity.
Cap-sleeved, floor grazing, and elegant gowns that perfectly balance sheer and solid never get thumbed down in my book.

Mugler FW12

images via elle

I was at a lack of words (namely, adjectives) after clicking through Nicola Formichetti's newest collection for Mugler a couple of weeks ago--and I still am.
The collection sent me mixed messages of "Futuristic-Exoskeletal-Snowman-Beetle," but it was truly fantastic.
Staying true to Mugler's avant garde aesthetic, Formichetti executed a jawdropping line of pieces that seemed to be from another world. His playing around with volume and texture (awesome fur sleeves and fringe) on pure white was a subtle but phenomenal start to the show. The exaggerated peplums also contrasted beautifully with the sculpted shoulders.
With more cutouts appearing, I sensed a change in direction. The collection shifted from winter whites to almost insect-like silhouettes. I liked to think of the structured dresses as either beetles or some crustacean.

All in all, fantastic.
And if you haven't seen this yet, watch The Platform's interview/vchat with Nicola on youtube!
