What I'm Wearing | Denim on Denim

I look a little too ecstatic here....

Just a quick post of today's outfit of....drumroll...denim on denim! I have been meaning to do a post like this for a LONG while (even prior to moving to NY, haha), but it was delayed for two reasons. Uno. no denim top--that is, until, my friend Katie gave me this amazing denim/jean shirt (or jirt, as I like to call it) before I left for NYC! Dos. The weather in NY has been so hot, with the exception of a beautiful TODAY! With a slight breeze and a pleasant temperature of around high 70s/low 80s (or so it felt...), I was able to wear a knit tee shirt (which, I got for $5 on sale at JOE FRESH...in black too) and a layering of denim over that. ALSO, I love these shorts because they are perfectly distressed and are not insanely tight like my other denim shorts. They're not high waisted so they sit comfortably above the hips! 6. Upon reaching my dorm, this is the VIEW! So blessed and fortunate to have gotten this room. 

7. Afterwards, I was finally able to meet my roommate Heather, whom I had blogged with on Claire's. 

8. We both also visited the Met, where the SCHIAPARELLI AND PRADA exhibit was showing! ('twas fantastic, but no pictures were allowed, sadly)

9. I went up to the Observatory Deck at the EMPIRE STATE BUILDING with my parents yesterday night, and the 360 view was incredible.

What I'm Wearing | Minimalist Summer

I actually recently posted an outfit with this sheer tunic (here), but once I saw these amazing sheer and layered trousers, I knew the two had to be paired together. I topped it off with simple silver hardware, 

a sharp cateye, and wooden platforms to prevent me from accidental tripping on the long hem of the pants.

The light summer breeze makes these trousers come to life, it's absolutely amazing.

What I'm Wearing | You Missed a Button!

I wore this outfit quite some time ago but never got around to posting it, unfortunately. I love last minute projects (sense my vicious sarcasm?).
Anyways, I've gotten a bunch of compliments on this asymmetrical top, and I think it is a beautiful piece that is airy for spring, but can also be used as an amazing layering piece in the fall/winter. My AP calc teacher joked that I missed a button while dressing that morning, haha.
I'll be graduating from high school in 4 days, so hopefully after that I can get back to posting, posting, posting!
