NEW IN! All thanks to ShopLately!
thought I would show you all the collection of jewelry that I brought with me to New York for school.
Unfortunately, all of my pieces don't get an equal share of wear (sorry, my unworn necklaces!), but I do love how they look sitting with the others.
My favorite necklace right now is the silver spiked tooth Glint and Gleam necklace sent to me by Shoplately.

I've displayed them on ceramic plates from Fish's Eddy, the most adorable dish and house wares store I've encountered thus far. They have an amazing $1 section in the back, where all the merchandise is (you guessed it!) a dollar a piece. So these four little dishes came out to a mere $4! They also have large plates, cups, flatware, bowls, and the like in the back. If you're ever in NYC, make sure to visit!

What I'm Wearing | Florals at the Met

GIFTED floral blouse // H&M faux leather skirt via CROSSROADS NYC // LIZ CLAIBORNE bag // F21 sunnies // BCBG wedges
Pictures by HEATHER!

-just a quick outfit post-

I wore this a couple of days ago when my friends and I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The last three pictures were taken on the roof of the museum, and the reflective panels in the back are part of  Tomas Saraceno's piece, "Cloud City"

Hope you liked this outfit!

What I'm Wearing | Zig Zag

dress thanks to SUGARLIPS // VINTAGE necklace // GLINT & GLEAM cuff thanks to SHOPLATELY // purse thanks to OASAP // JOE FRESH flatforms
Photos by HEATHER!
I wore this a couple of days ago, but never got around to blogging it. I am currently taking a break from my Advertising and Promotion paper to blog this (shh don't tell)
Anyways, I love the cool zigzag print on this dress from Sugarlips, it is a beautiful transitional piece that I'm sure will stay in my wardrobe and carry on through fall (great indigo and rust hues, ending summer and starting fall!)

What I'm Wearing | Lightning Fast

THEYSKEN'S THEORY dress // GLINT&GLEAM necklace thanks to SHOPLATELY // ASOS boots
pictures by HEATHER!
So approximately two weeks ago, Heather and I went to the Barney's Warehouse Sale and I walked away with this beautiful tunic from Theysken's Theory.
I was instantly attracted to the lightning bolt print and the construction of the sheer layer over a solid tunic. Naturally, the piece was only on sale because the sheer layer had started ripping near the neck, but I thought that it gave it an even cooler distressed feel.
For $19, I would say that it was a good buy!
I paired it with a silver tooth necklace (which has become my new favorite piece in my jewelry collection) from SHOPLATELY, which offers an amazing selection (and ridiculously affordable) of necklaces, bracelets, rings, and more.

What I'm Wearing | Tropical Paradise

ZARA pants // LIZ CLAIBORNE top // JOE FRESH wedges // LIZ CLAIBORNE bag
pictures by HEATHER!

Today, Heather and I ventured out to Madison Ave. in attempts to keep our sweeth tooths mum. I had  Citron and Rose Petal macarons, which were both utterly delicious. The ganache was so creamy and smooth and the pastry was an unbelievably awesome medium between firm and soft.
Afterwards, we tried to hit up a few thrift stores but to no avail, as they were all closed for labor day (Sad face).

Then, we made our way to Shake Shack to get our lunch. Crawling with people and catty customers, we were fortunate enough to have found a space after waiting for a while (and just in time for our burgers and fries too!) I will say that I was not impressed with the burger whatsoever, and that the fries actually outshone it.

For this excursion, I wore a cropped knit tank with my awesome paradise party pants (PPPs) from Zara, and my new shoes from Joe Fresh, which I picked up the other day for $19!

One thing I'm liking about New York--no sales tax on shoes and clothing under $100. Thank God.

What i'm Wearing | Mixed Metals

THRIFTED/FLEA chain link necklace // necklace thanks to CLAIRE'S // Evil Twin thanks to MARKET HQ // H&M faux leather skirt via BUFFALO EXCHANGE // ASOS boots // GUCCI aviators // LIZ CLAIBORNE bag

pictures by HEATHER!

Today, Heather and I scoured downtown for awesome finds. We went to the Barney's Warehouse Sale and  I left with a Theysken's Theory printed tunic (pictures later!) for $19. Already discounted items were given an additional 60% off, but I couldn't find anything of reasonable price even then, although I did see some beautiful iridescent Lanvin, comfy T by Alexander Wangs, and awesome architectural wedges by Ann D. As an added surprise and delight for my first Barney's warehouse sale, I met SUI HE! She's even more stunning in real life... and just a humble model off duty picking up some items on sale :)

After Barney's, we drifted over to Angel Street Thrift Shop, where I met up with the amazing photographer/model KELSEA KOSKO. I also happened upon a beautiful Charlotte Ronson sleeveless dress (that can double as a vest-dress contraption) WITH TAGS for a mere $5!

However, our deal-searching excursion was HOT, HOT, HOT! With temperatures nearing 90 (if not already 90), it was sweltering. Nonetheless, smart me thought it would be cool to wear two faux leather pieces and one real leather piece on my feet. I recently picked up this amazing leather skirt with pockets at BE for $14 and the gold chain link necklace from a 'flea' store for $2; both great buys in my opinion!
Accessory-wise, I decided to layer this rhinestone necklace from Claire's to balance with my boot's zippers, while the gold chain matched by ultra versatile Gucci aviators.

You could say today was awesome.

What I'm Wearing | Denim on Denim

I look a little too ecstatic here....
GIFTED denim shirt // JOE FRESH tee // shorts thanks to OASAP // LIZ CLAIBORNE bag// ASOS boots // self made necklace
Photos thanks to HEATHER!
Just a quick post of today's outfit of....drumroll...denim on denim! I have been meaning to do a post like this for a LONG while (even prior to moving to NY, haha), but it was delayed for two reasons.
Uno. no denim top--that is, until, my friend Katie gave me this amazing denim/jean shirt (or jirt, as I like to call it) before I left for NYC!
Dos. The weather in NY has been so hot, with the exception of a beautiful TODAY! With a slight breeze and a pleasant temperature of around high 70s/low 80s (or so it felt...), I was able to wear a knit tee shirt (which, I got for $5 on sale at JOE FRESH...in black too) and a layering of denim over that.
ALSO, I love these shorts because they are perfectly distressed and are not insanely tight like my other denim shorts. They're not high waisted so they sit comfortably above the hips!
Anyways, wrapping up this post now, as I have class tomorrow and it is...essentially already tomorrow.

What I'm Wearing | Streets of Soho

RVCA shirt // shorts thanks to HANMATTAN // LIZ CLAIBORNE bag // ASOS boots // F21 necklace // sunglasses thanks to Amy of  VAGABOND YOUTH
pictures taken by HEATHER!

I wore this all black outfit for a casual shopping/walking day with Heather in SOHO.
I added these blue-hued Lennon Sunnies from SHOPVAGABONDYOUTH paired with the red lips to provide some nice color to an otherwise monochromatic outfit.
We walked around the area, walking in and out of Isabel Marant, Stella McCartney, a Yayoi Kusama-bedecked Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Marni, and tons of other stores.
I only ended up walking away with sunglasses from H&M (pat on the back for not overspending)

ALSO....
Yes, these boots will be oft posted since they are pretty much the perfect shoes for city-treading. With a slight heel for some support (flat shoes hurt me more than heels, haha), these boots go with everything.

I hope you enjoyed this post and look forward to my upcoming ones!
School starts tomorrow!

What I'm Wearing | Colorblocked Summer

dress thanks to WILLOW & CLAY // F21 sunnies // bag thanks to OASAP // AE ring // ASOS boots
photos by the lovely HEATHER
I wore this yesterday but never had a chance to blog about it, so here it is!
Corresponding colors make me smile, so I decided to match the cream of the sunglasses with the lower colorblocked hem of this beautiful high-low summer dress by WILLOW & CLAY.
Hope you are all enjoying your summer!

What I'm Wearing | Concrete Jungle Utilitarian

RVCA tank // mom's vest // MAXMARA skirt // ASOS boots //
collar thanks to BEGINNING BOUTIQUE // LIZ CLAIBORNE bag // tattoo thanks to FAKETATTOOS.SE
pictures thanks to my lovely roommate HEATHER
My first outfit post in (yeah, that's right!) NYC! So first, I would like to apologize for the ridiculous lag in posts, as I've been packing and unpacking and attending orientation sessions.
I've already met so many wonderful people, including a reader from North Carolina (Hi Hana!) and I can't wait to meet more and make more new friends.
As for the outfit, I decided to go for a utilitarian look on this shopping day with Heather (the very few purchases I made will be popping up in posts sometime or later haha). This MaxMara skirt is PERFECT because of its versatile lantern shape, but my favorite feature has to be that it doesn't need to be ironed. I'm serious. Even if I wrinkle it, it "self-irons" and, as soon as one day, is completely fine if laid out. I love it.
As for the awesome fake tattoo, FAKETATTOOS.SE sent me some of their cool products and included was a set of different sized triangles. Although it may have been intended for one tattoo, I decided to cut it up and create my own geometric pattern (what do you think?)
Thanks for being loyal readers!
PS classes start next week :)
