She Was The Fire That Burned Your Skin

(click for larger images)

[DKNY camel blazer from my mom, green silk tank from my mom, vintage high waisted shorts, maroon oxfords from my mom]

GOODNESS I'M A  PALE ONE. i didn't even realize my legs were pale (in comparison to my upper body!@#$@) until i started taking pictures! geez, anyways i had fun today dressing up because i was bored. so i decided to take on a semi-androgynous look with muted neutrals and such. i love the outcome and the shirt is always interchangeable in color, material, and size! i could the shorts with just about anything, everything but neon. ew.
it is STILL cold, even though it was 'warmer' today. it might even rain tomorrow.. yay!! break out the cold weather clothing. i love that. layers and layers!

i entered one of the outfit pictures from above in  the teen vogue snapshot contest thing.... so let's see :]

The Honey Trees

(navy wool coat ralph lauren, from my mom; 3 layers of tights: black, wool, black; gray crew socks; dolce vita laceups)

it stopped raining. i love rain :( anyways it was so cold i had to wear 3 LAYERS of tights! i was refusing to wear pants because it wouldn't go with my original VOLUME ON TOP, skinny on bottom idea. it was quite a warm outfit though! love the new navy pullover with a FLAP!!! (picture 2) it's not even a hood, but i love it, it's kind of schoolgirlish.

the last picture is a DIY that i've been meaning to do -- just gotta get some leggings from the teeshirt store because i have a WIDE array of crazy ones i can fit under the cutouts! :D

+++went to michaels for like the 100th time in my life to buy 4 heavy duty chains that i will be using once i get some secret materials from my grandmother.
this item, hopefully, will be going on my etsy shop! (or i will just duplicate, and play around with the idea and change it) i just need a credit card (gettin' one soon!)

Laced With Sugar

(images from style.com)

Stella Mccartney's Fall 2009 RTW collection was flawless and each piece had its' own individuality, yet the whole show was cohesive. the first pieces opening the show were a bit androgynous with feminine touches. the plain block colors and punchy prints in monotonous shades were beautifully displayed on dresses and leggings. then the focus shifted to material and lace detail. the lace on the pieces are always really light and deilcate, they all seem to float on top of the skin. some of them even appear to be stickers! the light gray lace contrasting with a burst of beautiful emerald green color in silk really caught my attention. sasha pivarova's dress was immensely beautiful! the draping of the dress, and the lace overlay bunching up at the top is really gorgeous. ditto with lily donaldson's, that' emerald green is SO AMAZING. the colors change and become more muted, but are all just as beautiful. the lace dresses cling wonderfully to their wearers!

this collection was truly worth reviewing (spending time at the school computer lab :P) and i expect stella mccartney will keep on doing her thing! she's quite a woman.

Paint It Black

necklaces: f21, vintage, polka dot, vintage

this outfit/these accessories were not what i wore today. it was MUCH TOO COLD to be wearing anything like that! anyways, i like piling on necklace, but i hadn't had the chance to do it until today... so i did it! i used an all-black or semi-black color scheme .. and that's what came out..
sorry for the super BORING posts: i can't even take pictures of what i'm wearing cuz it's so dang cold! >:[

Anything and Everything

(images from altamiranyc)

love the monotonous color scheme displayed by these models off duty. adds good contrast to their (mostly) pale, but BEAUTIFUL, complexions, gorgeously.

+++it rained TONS today.
i mean CATS AND DOGS.
HIPPOS AND RHINOS.
GIRAFFES AND ZEBRAS.
whatever you like :]

but it was delightfully (only when you're bundled up) cold and i hope it stays like this for a while.

rain never comes in southern california!
so when it comes, everyone gets SUPERBLY excited. you have no idea.

last thing:

collage i did for a design craft class.
used pieces from (LA fashion and Riviera magazine)

WHO NEEDS WOLFORD WHEN YOU'VE GOT TARGET?

(click for larger images)

on my outing yesterday: dim sum, target, michaels.

dim sum is always good, if you get the right thing. i ate 蘿蔔糕 (turnip cake.. amazing),  麵條 (thick rice noodles!), and a kajillion other things. it was really good.

man i was excited to go to target, but was disappointed in the selection of that specific store. anyhoo, i went through the sock section and found THOSE amazing dip dyed gradient tights!!! :D i had been meaning to do a DIY but i was too scared.. i should just stick with embellishing haha. they're really beautiful: grayish white to navy blue at the toes. and they were only $5 ! who needs wolford when you've got target? (even though i have a pair of wolfords :P) ANNNND i spotted these cute little kiddie charm bracelets without the charm, and they were only a dollar each! great find, because they're actually REALLY GOOD quality and super shiny (though we all know that's gonna rub off soon ahah), a little gunmetal ish.

michael's was the last stop. THEY'RE ALWAYS OUT OF SILVER CHAINS@#^^ it pisses me off so much, you know? it's like every single time i go there, i never find them in stock. bleh. at least i got those two bracelets @ target :] then i got 2 packages of black feathers for a special diy surprise.. coming soon.. maybe in my etsy shop as soon as my dad gets me a credit card just for the shop! i hope i have time doing these things (OKAY, i WILL have time: president's week  off and spring break!)

DRIFTING ASTRAY

(f21)

(click for larger images)

i drew this yesterday, a look from RODARTE'S FALL 2009 COLLECTION, for my friend nicolette. i liked sketching this because it ws a challenge: the beautiful marbled texture on the minidress, and the tons of leather wraps on the gorgeous nicholas kirkwood thigh high boots. i added different colors in the minidress and tried to make it look like it was  swathed in chiffon. how do you think it turned out?
(oops, i forgot to outline the sketch in ink ! i'll redo it later, nico :D)

&&& oh how i NEED those gold foil brogues. you have no idea.

UP UP AND AWAY

(click for larger images)

so i finally finished the sketch for my winner! Annelise chose a look from Fendi's Spring 2010 RTW collection, and i sketched it. i used ink, watercolour, and pencil for the sketch. how do you think it came out? I actually LOVE it a lot :] the textures and ballooning material made it a fun piece to draw!

the last picture is a necklace that i repainted! i'm really happy with the outcome. it was originally ice blue and white beads, but i couldn't ever match anything with the ice blue, so i decided to repaint it. i left half of the diamonds white though, because i like it that way!

+++ALSO,

I received this award from Valerie&Camilla @ a butterfly by day. Thanks ! <3

+++ LAST THING very important: I'm starting an ETSY shop, what should i call it?
put your creative minds to use!!
my ideas: THE MENAGERIE
SHOP MODE
