one for the shareholders

sorry for lack of posts! but i'm very glad to see that i have gained several more followers; I LOVE YOU ALL! :D

well, recently i did a piece of work based on a prada (season unknown!!!) shoe. medium: colored pencil, marker, ink. the original picture : HERE. (if you know what season it is, tell me please! thanks!) as you can see, parts of the shoe are different color, such as the heel. i decided to replace some colors with patterns, because i LOVE patterns a lot.

the second picture is my new ring!!! i love it. ($3.80, f21) it's very bejeweled as you can see, and i love wearing it with bunches of different outfits. it's the piece that you can wear to a really nice outing, or with something casual.

last two pictures: from latest issue of RIVIERA mag. i love these both because they were in the same spread and seemed to reflect the style and look of each other. the valentino separates are all beautiful themselves. the lace top is so intricate, and the off-white color really captures the eye. the skirt adds some sheen and glamour to the whole look they put together, and the shoes are simply scrumptious! the christian lacroix is so voluminous and the material is simply gorgeous, it looks so luxuriant and rich. i adore the layering of the different shades and textures of black. the light lace overlay is really amazing.

+++MUCH THANKS TO FASHION JINX, for jinxing me!

a very merry unbirthday to me... in 2 days

(click for larger images)
yesterday night was PRICELESS. because it was my unbirthday (actually 2 days until my REAL birthday) & we ate at cheesecake factory and walked around for about 2 hours. then: i received a brand new wrapped issue of VOGUE NIPPON!@#$@#$ and also something called the Teen Vogue Handbook . thanks, NB! love them both to death. also, we found out that fashion island just opened a Y-3 and my friend had the same last name as him so we HAD to take a picture in front of the store, which as very sleek an minimal with white shelves everywhere. the last picture is a piece i've been doing since 3 days ago. they are different legs and arms in different positions, such as bent legs, pointed legs, flexed feet, fists, pointing fingers, etc. i really love this piece because its' very eccentric, unlike things i've done before. there are also different patterns on each part, which took quite some time to think up, but the results are AMAZING. your thoughts please! xx

turn me on with your electric feel

these lashes got me going crazy. i found the first picture in design craft class in WWD mag, and it really caught my eye. this mask card is one i made for my friend carly's birthday card :D ( because the theme was masquerade, i'm sorry i couldn't make it carly! :< ) made with cardstock, red construction paper, red feathers, black gemstone, and red silk cord my desktop, literally, with the lamp(ikea, love) and laptop desktop (default on my comp) and a huge collage on my wall :D yes. this is me. when i have time i will be posting outfit pictures, i think that's what makes my blog kinda boring :/ whateverrrs. xx

(collage images from various UO catalogues, Harper's Bazaar's, Time Fashion Magazines, Lucky Magazines)
fashion sketches=not done for a long time . the latest one (picture one, two) is a sleek and very plain idea. the dress focuses on pleats and material. the material could either be heavy wool or thick muslin. the seams give shape to the dress, and the sleeves are just layered over each other. there are two tiers to the dress.

this little mousie, by my sister, was drawn today while i was sketching. she kept on saying to me 'look at my rat'! i was like.. hahah so cute, so i posted it.

this is a collage i made for english class (had to describe our personalities.)
yep. i make them ALOT.

keep on reading!

channeling egypt

(collage images from various UO catalogues, Harper's Bazaars, and Teen Vogues) (images in frames from google images)
so. i went to michael's and i got these FANTABULOUS jewelry pieces that i bought individually and pieced together :D they were all relatively cheap, and very unique. i thought they looked egyptian.
[1,2,3] the necklace looks egyptian.
i love the pendant ($4) because of the unique feel, and the holes on the bottom of it that allow for the extreme DIY-ers like me. the cute matching daggers ($3, see? VERY affordable!), i thought, would totally bring the whole piece together, so i bought them , good buy. i love gold, this is subtle and toned down by the black. you californians, they also have this pendant/daggers in a turquoise stone color.
[4] the sketchbook if for design craft class.
so, how many collages have i done? haha. let's see.. lifetime.. probably about 5-6. but on my account they are all very "PURE ME" (so this collage says). i love how there's more people and models in this collage (yay coco rocha twice!) the pure me is out of newspaper, i love my resources.
[5] bought this frame at the 99 cent store.
YEAH. so who thought the 99 cent store sucked? i love this frame so much (which they also have in a white frame with black inset) . and the next day i googled up these things-"coco rocha black and white", "modern dancer", "hussein chalayan dress" , and "greg kadel" for those unbeknownst of these terms (yes i was once that person), greg kadel is an AMAZING photographer who captures the best moments. hussein chalayan just kicks everyone's un-futuristic ass in this industry.
so. keep it going and keep it freshhhh.

school=yuck. new style=yes.

(magazine collage pictures from various: Harper's Bazaar, Teen Vogue, LA, UO catalogues)
so, school starts tomorrow. i already have a week's outfits planned :DD yayyyy. they are surprises.. so i will post them as the days pass and i wear them. [1,2,3] these are my collages.
the first one i made today. i really have TOO many magazines, so i just cut some pictures out and placed them like so. i really love the first one because of the popping colors. the second one is very rocker. and the last one has COCO ROCHA on it :)
[4,5,6] this is my first day of school outfit.
i'm wearing a black tank top from g-stage, a tankdress from old navy, a metal bead necklace from a christian store, my DIY braid necklace, maybe sheer tights, and converse+a cute vintage bag from my mom from Bally, and amazzzing shoes from dollhouse. i love them :D
so. monotonous. whatever.
i'm crazed about fashion this year, even more so than my last year. hopefully i will REALLy develop a style that is unique to me. i don't want to be like the juicy-abercrombie-ugg girls,
i WILL have my own style this year.

braidy bunch

(pictures from LA TIMES' fashion mag)
SAD AND HAPPY
this is the last DIY of summer. look at the nav bar on the right screen and you will discover that more than half of the DIYS are from summer '09. *SOB* i hope i will have enough time to do more in th future. i did this in an easy 20 minutes. the first photo is actually the FINAL necklace ( i just edited this post ) with three tiers of braids, ranging from large to small. the next picture is the original necklace with only one large braid. the 3rd picture is a large braid with another necklace underneath it (i made it for my sister)
PLEASE TELL ME IF YOU ARE GOING TO POST THIS DIY ON YOUR BLOG, THANKS. (I AM ONLY DOING THIS FOR my own ORIGINAL IDEAS, IF I DIDN'T GET THE IDEA OFF SOMEONE ELSE, THEN I WILL WRITE THIS ON THE DIY POST).
you will need -scissors
-3 different colored, patterned old teeshirts
-chains
-metal pliers
-a pushpin/something sharp. needle maybe
-and lobster clasp and hook if you wish to have it chokerish
grab your teeshirts and flatten them out, then cut strips about 1-2 inches thick. cut one strip from each teeshirt, and grab a rubber band or hairtie and tie the top so you can braid without hassle. then you can braid the fabric (try braiding it flatly, or the fabric will stand up and not keep flat when you wear the necklace) all the way until you have about 2 inches left. then use a loose piece of cloth and tie a knot around all 3 strands, doing the same with the other rubber banded side. when you are done, you should have a braided dog toy-looking type of thing (courtesy my mother's comments). take a pushpin and stab it through the loose ends of each side of the braid. make sure it is close enough to the end of the fabric so that you can hook a chain through it. then, grab your pliers and open up the end of a chain and hook it into the hole, then close it. grab the other side of the chain and do so as well on the other side of the braid. you can also separate the chain from the middle after and add you lobster hook and clasp. there you have it!
so, i just came across these beautiful pictures from LA (LA TIMES' fashion mag) and and the ads and topics in it are just WONDERFUL. and sorry that my pictures aren't right side up :P
the first picture is the cover (great cuffs)
the second picture is issey miyake's supercool shirtdress thingy
the third picture (getting repetitive!) haha, is alexander wang runway pics
the fourth and fifth are under something called "50 first dresses," basically, the first dresses of fifty different designers. school starts in two days. bother

my aesthetic

(images from riviera magazine, harper's bazaar, elle magazine, WWD, various coach catalogues, urban outfitters catalogues) i'm back from catalina and doing the last things i can before summer ends! i just made a collage for the front of my sketchbook today, and also finished my entry for Teen Vogue's Rock The Tee contest for Fashion's Night Out 2009. [1]this is my collage I LOVE IT. i suddenly thought of gluing words that matched the pictures, so i typed them out, changed the font, and stuck them on :D i also "laminated" it by putting rows of tape over it so the pictures wouldn't stick up. like it? [2]this is a close up of my collage i love the images i found, A LOT [3]this is my entry for the contest okay, so i probably won't win. but i love my design, and i would so wear it. !!!the 2 winners get VIP tix to Fashion's Night Out in NYC!!! aand i would SOO love it. but, chances are slim. and i didn't buy the shirt so.. yeah. i'll get more artsy next summer. school's coming BOOH. o, and sorry.. the pictures may be cut off i will have to do some HTML/CSS to get the pictures fitted. my layout doesn't allow that :( anyways, xx

all that glitters

I BE IN CATALINA NOW

magazine pictures: Marie Claire September '09
sequins and black are amazingly IN, for me, and hopefully sequins stay around for a while. i love how they give sheen and sparkle to a simple look.

[1]sequin dress
i will get a bigger picture of the full dress, its quite an amazing frock. there is about 6 inches of sequins from the hem up and a GREAT long zipper in the back, i love exposed zippers.

[2]rock and republic shoes
ok, so these are men's shoes. but i would SO wear them. they're rocker chic and the buckles are fantastic.

[3]THE coolest skirt ever
maybe dangerous, but ever so glam rock. its like wearing a million daggers (a little less harmless) like a chain mail kinda thing.

[4]SHOOOZ
black leather, patent, and sequins. i love BLACK.... :D

i have wifi so keep up !

mary katrantzous debut: fw '09, hair art by viktor and rolf, nastia liukin for max azria, coco rocha in vogue (italia?)
google images.
[1] new designer mary katrantzous is now added to my favorites now. her "perfume bottle" dresses are amazingly geometric and meticulous, as well as being beautiful and chic.
[2]IT'S A BEAR!! this makes me crazy. well.. i wish my hair were that moldable. so yeah, here you go. hair art. go viktor and rolf, keep on doing these types of things.
[3]i love the whole concept that max azria uses in this shoot he did with gymnast nastia liukin. her flexibility and the flowy, sheer materials embrace the beauty of his clothing. google nastia liukin for max azria for more pictures from the shoot. truly great.
[4]i love how young, even naive, coco rocha looks in this spread! the bejeweled headband is equally as attractive. YES ANOTHER DIY. :D
it'll come soon.. and oh noz, school is starting. so i will try to do as much as i can!
